Managing Director, Beau Berni has spent his lifetime in the development and operation of amusement parks and attractions, and that is to say literally his lifetime. As the fourth generation of his direct Berni family lineage, Beau has spent his childhood, adolescence, adult, and professional career within the leisure industry.
As far back as 1910, Beau’s relatives owned the Berni Organ Company, which imported European organs and retrofitted them for carousel amusement rides. Subsequently, after nearly 70 years of his great grandfather and grandfather owning and operating concessions, amusement parks and attractions, Beau was born into his family’s amusement park. He grew up as a park guest and learning by working inside the family-owned park in southwest Ohio. With such an advantage of direct knowledge and experience, Beau quickly became a leader in his professional career evident by his first management role at the age of 16. In the 25+ years since, he has established a strong reputation for developing new business and directly managing many of those businesses to ensure success. Having immediate family and extended family work as owners, operators, and consultants within the amusement industry, Beau learned the traditions of amusement operations, processes of attraction development, best safety practices, and project management from both his personal and professional life. That foundaiton has served as the basis while pushing forward and innovating using current trends and modern processes that are evolving and under constant improvement.
Serving a diverse career Mr. Berni has performed and held numerous leadership positions in theme park development, attraction sales, retail, food & beverage, special event / entertainment, marketing, and concert operation. He has cultivated numerous relationships with industry suppliers and fellow operators. He holds AIMS certifications in Operations and as a Ride Inspector and is an IAAPA certified Attractions Executive. Mr. Berni has worked internationally as a consultant to amusement park developers and operators in Europe and Asia and even served as a construction manager for a new theme park when he was part of the operations leadership team.
Other notable roles held; General Manager of The Island in Pigeon Forge,Tennessee (a 20-acre entertainment destination with amusement attractions, 60+ retail stores, on-site lodging, and national food and beverage operators), where Beau lead the operations and co-led over 65 million in investments over 18 months. In the greater New York City market, Beau was a strategic and key team
member in the revitalization efforts of Coney Island where he worked closely with the City of New York's Office of the Mayor and the New York City Economic Development Corporation to create and launch Luna Park. Mr. Berni has dedicated his personal and professional life to the amusement industry and believes it plays an integral and positive role in society and how we live within it.
